Skrotfrag AB is a Swedish company established in 1972. The company started shredding metal in 1988. We conform to the European Union regulations with reference to strict control of environmental emission and pollution. Our technical process separates unwanted materials and at the same time prevents emission and environmental pollution.
We process used metal that can be recycled for general purpose. Most of the materials come from industries, households, building wastes and community scraps with metal content. Other materials are supplied by our yards, which are in various locations in midland Sweden. All our yards meet the Health and Safety regulations of today.
We operate two shredding plants in Sweden, one is located in Gothenburg and the other in Oskarshmn. The two plants have handling capacity for over 200.000 tons of metal per year. The raw material is sold for export through ports directly connected to the plants or loaded in containers. The plant in Gothenburg also has railway track for transportation by train.
We are always able to achieve different classifications after our processing, namely:

Before shredding, products like cars, electronic items, and equipment for cooling, is cleaned from toxic components, oil and gas.We operate two shredding plants in Sweden, one is located in Gothenburg and the other in Oskarshmn. We are always able to achieve different classifications after our processing, namely:
- Iron. This is the main output of our process, we achieve up to 99,8% iron and this is sold to customers all over the world for melting.
- Mixed Metals. The content is a mix of non-magnetic metals like aluminium, copper, brass, stainless and zinc.
- Shredder fluff. After 10 years of technical research we can fulfil the coming EU demands and deliver fluff for energy recover and shredder remainders for construction material in landfill areas.
